On Thursday morning (Manila time), Liverpool drew 2-2 with Manchester City, 3-2 on aggregate to earn a spot at the finals of the Carling Cup against Cardiff City—thanks to a Steven Gerrard penalty at the 40th minute and a brilliant piece of work from Craig Bellamy at the 76th minute.
That said, Bellamy scored against his former team to bring his former team to the finals against his former team. Can’t keep up? Let me just share these celebratory photos:

As for Real Madrid, the Copa del Rey champs bow out to Barcelona, drawing on the vuelta 2-2 (4-3 on aggregate). However, the men in white had a solid 2nd half showing on the vuelta—which should boost their confidence and strengthen them mentally for future Clasicos.
That said, because Barcelona drew with Zaragoza this morning, Real Madrid are now seven points clear on top of the La Liga. And as we all know, Liga > Copa. Hala Madrid!
