Senior Euro champions, U-21 Euro champions, and now, U-19 Euro champions. Felicidades La Rojita! Felicidades Alvaro Morata!
Like I said, the future of Spanish football is very bright. Next up, the U-20 World Cup!
I wasn’t able to stay up for it earlier, but La Rojita, Spain’s U-21 team, had defeated Switzerland’s U-21 team 2-0 in the final of UEFA’s U-21 Championship. This comes exactly one year after Spain cinched a spot in the World Cup 2010’s knockout rounds by defeating Chile (and we all know the conclusion to that story). See, good things happen to Spanish football on my birthday. I must be their talisman. 😉
Check out the golazo from Thiago Alcantara in this video. Gotta say, him, Ander Herrera, Iker Muniain, David de Gea, and especially Javi Martinez and (por favor!) Juanin Mata are all gonna be future La Roja stars (well, technically, Martinez and Mata already are, but those two are so grande to decide to help steer the U-21 team to glory). Next up, the Olympics!
